BIO

Music has been a huge part of May Claire’s life since she started choir at age four. Since then, she has continued to sing in choirs, performing in Walt Disney Concert Hall and all over the world, and has competed and sung solos as a classically-trained soprano. She also plays the lever harp, and the pedal harp, and taught harp to children in underserved communities with the Harp In Our Public Schools Project.

In Fall 2013, May Claire helped found the Game Music Ensemble at UCLA and was active within the group as a featured vocalist, harpist, choir member, and choral conductor.

May Claire received her B.A. in Ethnomusicology and a minor in Music Industry at UCLA, and recently finished her Master's in Vocal Performance at the University of Oxford.  She also continues to perform and arrange in a variety of styles and genres, including classical, jazz, choral, folk, and video game music. She has experience singing early music, contemporary music, and Balkan music as well. She has also recently recorded vocals and has voice acted for several video games. When she is not immersed in music-making, she enjoys painting, dancing, and teaching.

May Claire is also an accomplished visual artist, and her work has been shown in exhibitions at the Santa Monica Pier and the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

May Claire is based in Los Angeles, and is available for hire.
